Ford Escort Mk1. RHD Import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. Nova declaration has been paid and we have all the correct paperwork here to UK register it. we will complete all the paperwork for the new owner.The car starts runs and drives but will need finished off.

 

Body - 1969 Mk1 Escort shell. Its an export spec shell so it has extra strengthening similar to our type 49 shells. Underneath looks very solid and is all painted body colour. Doors fit well on the shell. Panel gaps are good in the main. Paintwork is fairly tidy. There are a few minor marks but nothing major. Evidence of a bit filler in lower quarters, lower rear panel and door bottom. Its had Mexico stickers fitted when it was overseas but these are not quite right as the lettering is in the wrong place. Front spoiler fitted. Bonnet pins were fitted but one has disapeared in transport so that will need sorting.

 

Mechanics - Good 2.0 Pinto with new carb. Starts no problem and sounds quiet. 4 speed box. Brakes work and clutch feels OK. We have only driven this round the industrial estate and not out on the road at any stage. Brakes pipes are a bit untidy and need sorting out. Car will need a good checkover 

 

Interior - Period style semi bucket seats. Good dash top. UK 6 dial dash fitted but needs all wired up. RS steering wheel.   Door cards look a bit DIY and will need replaced. Headcloth is tidy enough but not the original type.

 

Wheels - 13" Minilite style wheels with good tyres.
