1979 Ford Escort 1600 Sport. RHD Import from South Africa. All tax and duty paid and NOVa declaration done. We will fill out all the registration paperwork for the new owner in their name. This one starts runs and drives, is complete but its a bit of a project. Not a bad starting point but will require some love.

 

Body - export spec shell with similar strengthening to our RS models. Good inner wings, strut tops, front wings, boot bonnet, quarters, rear floor boot floor. Will need repairs on front crossmember below radiator, front floors, outer floor sections between chassis and sill and boot wells. Door bottoms will also need attention. Tunnel has been enlarged so im assuming its had a bigger engine in it at some point. Paintwork is all the one colour but will need redone to a decent standard. Rubber rear spoiler.

 

Mechanics - All looks like standard sport with 1600 crossflow, 4 speed box, twin choke weber. Starts runs and drives but will obviously need a good checkover as with any old car. Carb will need adjusted for the different climate.

 

Interior - Good original sport rear seat. Front seats have been changed and are pretty horrible. Sport dash clocks. Door cards have speaker holes. RS clock and pod fitted

 

Wheels - 4 x crosspoke alloys with very average tyres. 

 

This is by no means a minter but not a basket case either. It does need work but its a fairly decent starting point. Please feel free to come and see it. We have a ramp so you can look underneath. Delivery can be arranged if required please ask for a quote.
